safari time!

beauties, i am once again, en vacance. yesterday i flew to lovely florida where i will spend a week being pampered by my parents before heading to LA for a total beauty sponsored beauty blogging conference!!!
at this point, you may be wondering how i'm hauling all of makeup, lotions and potions across the nation. one word: sephora. the sephora brand has chosen a safari theme for their "take a walk on the wild side" summer 2008 line. and beauties, the makeup bags are to-die-for (luckily no animals had to, as they are just animal-inspired prints).

if your makeup bag is looking tore up from the floor up, i urge you to replace it with one of these. animal prints and bold teals and oranges fit with all the summer trends and the bags themselves are well-made (with good attention to detail), while remaining very moderately priced - ranging from $5-$78 a piece. see them all here.

sephora beauty insider.

it's taken two months (originally posted here), but i've finally figured out the sephora beauty insider program. essentially it's like a glam version of a cvs rewards card. and since i love my cvs card, i would imagine that i will supremely love my sephora card. how it works is you get one of those little plastic keyring attachments that can be scanned to give you the following:

1. for every $100 you spend, you get exclusive product samples.

2. you get a gift, specifically a bliss naked body butter, when you go the store on your bday!

3. sephora will email you to alert you of products that may be of interest to you, based on your answers to a quiz about your coloring, skin type and likes.

4. you get access to products and bonuses not available to the ordinary customer (because you are not ordinary, you are extraordinary!).

they also have this gorgeous "it-bag" sample set (woman's wrist not included) with online orders over $25 online now. there is no cost or penalty for not using the card, so why not join?

napoleon perdis comes to sephora.

it comes from the land down under! napoleon perdis, a cult favorite australian makeup brand, is now being carried at sephora (though not at my sephora yet, as i just went there to check out the products and they were no where to be seen). somehow australia does a take on blonde and tan beauty that is totally different from the us. and i like it. a lot. it manages to be both neutral and daringly fierce. how do they do it? and to your right is the man behind the brand. the spitting image of australian!

the line is filled with glowing bronzers in creams and powders and gels, oh my! the face collection has the serious products (foundations and concealers galore!) necessary to create a flawless canvas - though several of them go by the not-so-PC name of "china doll". finally, i have heard wonderous things about the mascara, and hopefully i will get my hands on some!
