some eye-candy for your friday afternoon! pretty, pretty, huh?
this is the image for one of MAC's newest collections, dazzleglass. dazzleglass consists of 16 crystalline glosses at $16.50 each. it will be on counters may 1st, but it's up on the MAC site now.

my spring makeup revelation was to focus on cheeks - rather than eyes or lips - when creating a "focus" for my looks. MAC collections don't always include blush, but happily, the beauty powder blush collection shows that MAC and i remain on the same page.
at the exact time when i decided that i simply couldn't live without a bevy of glowing blushes to choose from, MAC decides one of their spring launches will be beauty powder blushes. coincidence? i suppose so, but a very happy one.
there are 8 vibrant shades to choose from, each one is $17.50. my current favorite is joyousness, it's name makes me happy and a quality orange-based blush isn't easy to come by. see them all here.

what's this? why, it's the beloved marina of makeup loves me with the heatherette boys!
and i think this picture says it all, i belong with heatherette! they are all about the hot pink, the sequins and the outrageous/fabulousity, and so am i! i met these two dreamboats at a release event that MAC graciously hosted to introduce the hotly anticipated collaboration between MAC and heatherette.

this is a big collection. which are my favorites? i thought you'd never ask! there are 4 dual edge eye pencils - which MAC has never done before - i implore you to get them all while you still can! and of course, the heatherette compact for the beauty powder is a signature piece that captures the collection. it's perfect for touch-ups and it will make you the envy of everyone in that restroom. i have yet to try the $$$$$ yes nail polish, but it looks like it will rock my world if it really is the liquid silver that it appears to be.
it's all available online - maccosmetics.com - and it launches on MAC counters today, so get out there and trample those other ladies with your stilettos to get 'em first (i'm a nice girl, except when it comes to limited edition)!

there hasn't been a crazy MAC-frenzy week at mlm lately, but get ready, because this is going to be one of them. and also if you have any reservations, get over it, because it's gonna be awesome.
why, you ask? 1. because i love MAC like no other and 2. because right now they are having one of those hot streaks of brilliant collection releases.

the strobe collection, luckily for all of us, is just the tip of the iceberg. this collection strikes me as a rather odd spring release, but it's also a total dream come true, so i'm not complaining.
it all about looking radiant and uber-hydrated. the collection includes the strobe liquid, an updated, lighter version of the strobe cream (also in this collection) and 5 tinted lip conditioner spf 15 sticks. my favorite is strobe kiss, coral with golden pearl.
see this glowing little collection here.

the fafi collection was one of MAC's largest in quite some time. with all these cute products in their fun packaging, which do you choose? after playing with the fafi collection for the last few weeks, it all comes down to the blushes and the brushes.
the two blushes for this collection - hipness (bright coral) and fashion frenzy (bright pink-based blue) are the right colors to brighten up most skintones for spring. i use the collection's iridescent pressed powder in belightful (shimmery peach bronze) underneath to warm up the cheek (plus the compact for the powder is absolutely adorable). both the blushes are sold out on the MAC site, but you can always check with a MAC counter near you for availability, and the belightful powder is still available online!
the collection also contains four brushes - a special edition powder/blush brush, the 210 precise liner brush, 208 small angled brow brush, and the buffer brush. the 210 brush is the eye brush i've been waiting for - gets in a the little around-the-eye angles. finally, though i have several kabuki brushes, the buffer brush is my new favorite - it is divinely soft because it's made from goat hair. and the good news is all four brushes are still available on the MAC site.
if you still haven't done so, see all of the MAC fafi collection here.

today (02/13/08) is the official launch of MAC's collaboration with french graffiti artist, fafi. fafi herself was at henri bendel to introduce the new makeup line. i was super fortunate to get a little time with fafi - she gave me an exclusive interview for makeup loves me readers!
in this picture - fafi, me and a fafinette come to life at the event.
first of all, fafi is just as coy and minx-y as the characters she creates. she has the those blunt, french-girl bangs, clear skin and doe eyes.
mlm: what made you want to collaborate with MAC?
fafi: they contacted me. here i was this little french girl in their big american meeting, but it seemed like they were the right company for my line.
mlm: which is your favorite product in the fafi for MAC line?
fafi: the iridescent pressed powders because you can really see the graphic i created on the case.
mlm: who do you envision buying this collection?
fafi: young people and also metro women. people who appreciate the craziness and originality (of the collaboration).
mlm: what's the best thing about being french?
fafi: being natural. the french don't say things that they don't mean. also, i love living in paris because you can people watch and see all kinds of women there.
mlm: which fafinette are you most similar to?
fafi: each of them contains a bit of me.
mlm: which is your favorite?
fafi: ermine.
mlm: me too! what can we expect to see coming up for fafi?
fafi: i'm working on a comic.
i bought a fafi makeup bag at the event and had fafi "tag" it - it reads "fafi pour marina". i am still in awe of my time with fafi, she truly is effortlessly cool. check out the whole line here.
and, hint, hint to all boyfriends: these whimsical, feminine characters make for a great valentine's day gift.

the charismatic charlotte tilbury used MAC products to create the look for wednesday evening's temperley london show. i spoke with tilbury amongst the chaotic backstage scene.
her inspiration? the 70s woman. the look? skin was matte and perfected, with silverish highlights on the tips of cheekbones, chin and nose and a little bronzer on the cheek. eyes were the focus. tilbury created an elongated (but not catty) eye with MAC's shadestick in sharkskin. lips were washed out with MAC pro product lip erase.

MAC's gordon espinet created the look for this season's THREEAsFOUR runway show, which took place saturday evening. i went backstage and spoke to gordon about the look. he wanted the girls to have a radiant, healthy look - "like they drink milk everyday", but combined with a rock star glam, which he achieved with shocking blue lashes.
their flushed cheeks were achieved with a new rosy mineralized blush. MAC is tweaking the formula based on the runway shows and the finished product should be available to the public in the fall (i will definitely be letting you know when this comes out!).
the amazing blue lashes were painted that color with fluidline in royal wink (a MAC pro color).
the unofficial shoe of fashion week? i saw my friend heather from MAC backstage and we were both wearing seychelle's "with a twist" shoes. i have seriously been wearing them all week because they are so cute and comfortable.
makeup loves me would like to give the biggest thank you ever to total beauty for making me an i-correspondent and helping me obtain backstage access. i could not have brought you this coverage without them!

i am so into skincare right now (i think its the new year's thing) and it looks like the beauty industry is with me. all sorts of new exfoliators, masks, and especially moisturizers are hitting shelves to help you put your right face forward in 2008.
since my skin can be oily and i'm in my mid-20s, i haven't always moisturized religiously, but for the past month i have taken to doing so nightly. like me, MAC hasn't always made skincare a priority, usually opting to focus on their high pigment and imaginative cosmetics lines. but, it seems we have both changed our tunes. MAC's moisturelush collection contains moisturelush cream ($32) and moisturelush eye cream ($30). both are rich and hydrating, though i'm not crazy about the scent. hopefully both MAC and i will continue expand our relationships with skincare in the months to come! check out the moisturelush line here.
