review: redken color rebel.

{color me pretty}

i've spent months admiring the silver and pastel manes that other, seemingly ordinary, adult women have started wearing.  i even considered a pricy and time consuming salon trip to have the underside of my hair transformed to a mix of silver and lavender, but ultimately couldn't commit.  when i saw redken's color rebel temporary hair color it seemed like the best combination - vibrant, and well, temporary.  they had shocking reds, purples and pinks that could be easily washed out, and still i waited.

until last week when i received samples from the color rebel naturals limited edition collection -- one of the shades -- champagne rose (pictured 2nd from the left above) appeared to be a rose gold.  i could wait no longer.  this weekend i knew it was time to give color rebel a chance.

applying the product was incredibly straight-forward.  it was pretty much just like applying paint to my hair with a spongy applicator.

i loved the subtle, yet noticeable tint it provided (see below).   what i realized after using up much of my product on sopping wet hair is that this product is meant to be applied to dry hair.   my would be been even more pronounced had i done it this way.  next time!  finally, keep in my mind it is a bit drying, though not nearly as much as actually dying one's hair can be.  have a deep conditioner on hand as an after treatment.

the limited edition color rebel naturals join the original color rebel shades this month (may 2015).  to learn more about buying the product or having it done in the salon visit styleseat.com/Redken.
