how to remove stains from nails with baking soda.

{lo bosworth and i like to get arm + hammer manis together}

baking soda is one of those products that's like, "show me the problem, and i'll find a solution."  it can be used for pretty much anything.  however when arm + hammer invited me to come to paintbox for a manicure using baking soda (and to meet lo bosworth!), i wasn't really sure how the multi-purpose powder would tie in.

turns out the brightening powers of arm + hammer baking soda are great for lifting stains off nails.  smokers or dark polish lovers can end up with discoloration on their tips, which luckily can be removed with a simple of potion of baking soda and water.

how to:
  1. mix arm + hammer baking soda and a small amount of water into a gritty paste (approx 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water).
  2. brush the paste onto nails.  this can be done with finger tips, a nail brush or even a toothbrush (though not a used one!).
  3. leave in place for 3-5 minutes (depending on how stubborn the stains are).
  4. rinse, and proceed to manicure!

bonus:  the gentle exfoliant also buffs cuticles.  i love!
