i am of the belief that the best way to apply lip color is in chubby pencil form.  NARS must share this thought because in addition to their velvet gloss pencil line and their velvet matte pencil line they've just introduced a line of 13 new shades of satin lip pencil.

the NARS satin lip pencils are:

• easy to use; though chubby it's easy to stick in the lip line and fill your natural shape.
• between glossy and matte, it's truly a satin finish.
• high-pigment; these aren't gloss sticks, except way more than a hint of color.
• long-wearing, i still had bright pink lips 6 hours after applying yu.
