Makeup tips every girl should read: How to get the catwalk look.
With cosmetic procedures
such as breast augmentation, tummy tucks and cosmetic nose jobs
widely available, it can be easy to forget about more simple beauty techniques
– such as basic makeup tricks! The right cosmetics are designed to enhance your
natural beauty and increase your confidence, so let’s take a look at some of
the best looks from Fashion Week Spring 2013 for inspiration.

Bright lips
This season, it’s all about making the most
of your best features and keeping the rest of your face as neutral as possible.
So, if you have a perfect pout, why not accentuate it using a quality lip liner
and a daring shade of lippie? At this year’s fashion show, Prada makeup artist
Pat McGrath used a matte crimson on the models whereas the Jean Paul Gaultier
girls rocked a dramatic power red. Whatever colour you go for, ensure it won’t
smudge easily and apply it using a special lipstick brush.

Dark eyes
If you’re not used to wearing much makeup, a
little eyeliner could transform your appearance instantly. There are many looks
you could try, but the cat eye style (complete with small flicks either side)
is as popular as ever. It adds definition and cheekiness to your features,
without being too overpowering and was the technique of choice at Thierry
Mugler and Miu Miu. If you want to try something new, Chanel’s makeup artist Peter
Philips spiced things up by combining dark liner with a platinum eye shadow.

Full, thick eyelashes
Who would have thought you could do so much
with your eyelashes? That’s right, by using the right products and brushes, you
can change your style each day depending on your mood. Moschino showed that
with a little patience it’s possible to separate your lashes so that each one
stands out individually (almost). This might be a little time consuming, but
the effects are quite impressive. Alternatively, you can follow in Gucci’s
footsteps and go for the curled up look finished off with dark mascara.
Clean, clear skin
As winter becomes a distant memory and the
sun shines for the first time in months, spring is the perfect season to let
your skin glow. The natural look is just as popular as dark eyes or bright
lips, so let your complexion breaths and use minimal cosmetics. If you do want
to wear a product or two, follow Pat McGrath’s advice by applying a liquid
foundation with a makeup brush before brightening your cheekbones using several
shades of blusher.
Makeup can help you look and feel great
throughout 2013, so experiment with various cosmetics and unleash your inner
goddess.
