last thursday - september 13th 2012 - i attended a truly surreal event; the release of lady gaga's fragrance fame.  the fete was held at the guggenheim, and the invite informed me that a head accessory was mandatory for ladies.  this mandate was taken very seriously (sarah at styleitonline.com created a wonderful slideshow of the many unique looks).  i wore a black lace mask and betsey johnson corseted dress.

gaga's performance art piece "sleeping with gaga", began once attendees became aware that a sleeping gaga was housed inside the life-size model of her perfume bottle.  we each had a chance to reach through a peephole in the bottle and attempt to wake the sleeping beauty.  when she finally woke her head was ritually shaved and her scalp received a fresh tattoo.  that's gaga!

fame is a black perfume that sprays on clear.  a combination of sweet and sexy, it's my favorite celebrity scent yet.  notes include belladonna, incense, apricot, honey drops, tiger orchidea, and jasmin sambac.
