mindy kaling's look at the emmy's.

i am not a big watcher of award shows, but i loved the pictures i saw of mindy kaling's hair from the emmys this past sunday. the waves are so controlled and very old hollywood.  plus, im obsessed with all things kaling -- did you catch her sitcom last night?  i'm hooked.

this romantic hairstyle was created by luke chamberlain.  here's the how-to breakdown:

1. start with damp hair and apply matrix biolage volumizing mousse section by section throughout.

2. add a small amount of biolage exquisiteoil replenishing treatment, then blow dry the hair with a medium boar bristle round brush sealing in the oil and mousse to achieve healthy body with tons of shine.

3. use a 1” barrel curling iron wrapping it in a figure eight pattern and continuing this technique with all sections throughout the hair, later place the curls in 1 inch Velcro curlers while allowing to cool.

4. remove the rollers and brushed out the hair creating lush and voluminous waves.

5. finish off the look with Matrix Total Results Amplify Hairspray to lock in volume for the rest of the night.

i may actually try to recreate this look.  all products mentioned may be purchased through salons that carry the matrix line.
