yum = lavender + honey + lemon.

i used to be really good at math, but now i prefer equations more of this variety. i love new and exotic flavor combinations almost as much as i love makeup (gasp!). this late summer flavor combination is sure to wow guests and delight your taste buds.

the combination of lavender with honey and lemon can be an opportunity to try your hand at a sophisticated recipe or can be (nearly) effortlessly thrown together. it can be a dessert or a beverage. it's up to you which direction you want to take it!

however, i do have two recipe recommendations for you, one for a dessert (complicated) and one for a beverage (simple).

the first hails from epicurious and requires you have a good amount of time and an icecream maker but makes both worthwhile. the recipe for honey lavender ice cream can be found here. once you make this creamy treat you can serve it with a small scoop of lemon sorbet and voila! gourmet supreme!

the second recipe i "invented" last weekend. lavender honey lemonade is simple to make, the only tricky part may be finding fresh lavender. take lavender flowers and heat with honey in a saucepan for a couple minutes to get the flavor out, then let it cool. juice lemons in and fill with water. all amounts are to your taste, but remember you are replacing sugar with honey, so be generous.
